Liège airport - EHS-3

Recently, an extraordinary logistical effort made it possible to bring horses and teams safely back from Doha to Europe. In difficult circumstances, many people worked day and night to make this happen.

Above all, I would like to recognize the leadership and commitment of Al Shaqab and Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. “Milaha”, the local partners who were in charge of this operation.

In just 36 hours, the Al Shaqab team, together with Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. “Milaha”, coordinated the safe transport of 147 horses from Doha to Europe. Thanks to their strong connection with local authorities and their close cooperation with Qatar Airways, two charter cargo flights were arranged, and all operational procedures were handled with remarkable efficiency.

Throughout the entire process, the Al Shaqab team remained continuously available and fully engaged, maintaining constant contact with riders and grooms on the showground while coordinating closely with us, as the receiving partner in Europe. At all times, the safety and well-being of horses, grooms and everyone involved remained the absolute priority of all parties involved in this organization.

At European Horse Services (EHS), we were grateful to support this effort and honored to assist with the safe return of the horses to Europe. Working alongside such dedicated professionals was a privilege.

We want to thank everyone who worked around the clock over the past days, and especially Al Shaqab for taking the lead and making this possible. They truly made the impossible possible.

EHS remains fully committed to supporting the international equestrian community and to ensuring the safe and responsible transport of horses whenever and wherever it is needed. We wish everyone involved continued safety and well-being.

With sincere respect and gratitude to everyone who made this possible.
