Why we recommend loading at DNata

At EHS, we know that the way your horse is introduced to an airstall can set the tone for the entire flight. A confident step forward, a calm rhythm, a safe environment, … these details make all the difference. That’s why we are so pleased with the new DNata animal handling centre at Amsterdam Airport.

It’s important to know: loading at DNata is an optional extra. Horses can also be loaded in other facilities at AMS. But whenever possible, we recommend choosing DNata… because the benefits for your horse are simply too great to ignore.

Designed with horses in mind

Here’s what makes DNata stand out when it comes to loading into the airstall:

      • Sure footing: With rubber flooring throughout, horses can walk on with confidence. No slipping, no hesitation—just a secure step every time.

      • A natural flow: Smartly placed side panels create a gentle funnel effect, guiding horses calmly into the stall. It feels natural to them, and that means less stress for everyone.

      • Time to rest: Before boarding, horses can settle in a quiet stable, giving them a chance to relax and reset after the drive to the airport. A familiar routine makes the transition smoother.

    Why this matters to EHS

For us, loading isn’t just logistics, it’s horsemanship. We want every horse to feel safe, respected, and cared for in each step of the journey. By choosing DNata, we can give them the best possible start before the flight: calm horses and peace of mind for the owners.

    First-hand experience

When the horses of Abdel Said travelled to the Major League, they became the first to use these new stables. Watching them settle quickly into their boxes and then walk smoothly into the airstalls showed us just how much of a difference DNata makes.

    Our recommendation

Of course, horses can still be loaded elsewhere at Amsterdam. But at EHS, we’ll always recommend DNata when possible. It’s not just a facility—it’s a safer, calmer environment that reflects the way we believe horses should travel.
