EU’s President-Elect, Dr. Ursula von der Leyen listening to concerns of the equine sector
Brussels – On 15th October latest the newly installed European Parliament Horse Group had a first meeting lead by Commission Chair, MEP Hilde Vautmans and in the present of horse enthusiast Dr. Ursula von der Leyen who becomes President of the European Commission as from 1st November.
Several Members of the European Parliament and stakeholders from the European Horse Network were present to discuss priorities from the equine industry. European Horse Services’ Filip Vande Cappelle – in his function as president of the Animal Transportation Association (ATA) and member of European Horse Network was also present. Filip was requested to give an update on Brexit for the MEP and leaders from around the equine world. More precisely, the effects on future horse shipments between the EU and the UK were clarified, both in case of a ‘deal’ or ‘no-deal’ scenario.
